We hope you will consider throwing your hat into the ring, and contribute articles to the site.

What do I do to start submitting articles?

First you need to Signup with us. We are still working on the system so that authors can signup and submit articles themselves. Meanwhile you can use the Author Form to fill in your information (see next question) and we will enter it into the system so that your bio, etc. can show up with your articles. Then we will give you a email id that you will use to email in your articles (and any pictures that go with them). We will enter your article into the system, so that it will show up in the correct topic area.

What information do you need to sign up?

This is the information you will need to sign up as an author.

• First and last name, plus a salutation (like Mr., Mrs. or MD)
• A user name (same one as used elsewhere on our site) and password
• Your Bio (up to 1000 characters)
• A Picture of you
• Phone number, Mailing Address (could be business) and Email
• Your decision on wether any of the above 3 items are displayed with your bio/articles
• What you would like as compensation, Link, ad credit, cash or none, or whatever you have in mind
• Links to your page, Name and link to a organization you represent or are a member of.
• How often you think you will be contributing.

Why does my article not show up right away?

Although we make the best effort to get your article entered, usually it is in the next day. However, some topics have multiple contributors, and only the latest article shows up on the topic page. So we will set the release date for the next article to allow the most recently posted to show up on the topic page for at reasonable amount of time, before moving to the archives. We feel that this gives HorseIceCream.com members a good chance to see an article before it is moved to the archives.

Can you use articles that do not fit into the current topics?

Yes we can. We are interested in all things horse, and would be glad to add another topic area if we can get articles for it. Just contact us and let us know your ideas.

How long does my article have to be?

At least 3 hands would be nice! Articles should address their subject completely, and we feel that would make them at least 300 words.

Can I include charts or pictures?

Yes you can. We feel that improves an article. You can just attach your pictures to the email you send us with your article. Just contact us if you have any questions.

Can my article include a product review?

It depends. We are looking for informative articles, not advertising. We do have a section of the site for product/service reviews. So an article that proposes "How to pick a Horse Trailer" that touts one company's trailer or line of trailers would be an ad. While if the same titled article discussed the aspects of good horse trailers for the type of need different horses/activates would have would be ok. Mentioning multiple companies' products and how they fit those needs is acceptable, focusing on one product line or the products you sell is not. We will review all articles and if we feel that an article is more of an ad, we will request the author rewrite it before it can be approved.
